In November 2004 WestJewel acquired a Cape Town based jewellery wholesaler. After building a new showroom and IT infrastructure, Westjewel is now widely recognised as one of South Africa’s leading jewellery importers and wholesalers servicing South Africa and border countries.
WestJewel Limited, an unlisted public company, is a wholly owned subsidiary of GlobalJewel Limited, a public company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa. Registration number 2000/016366/06.
GlobalJewel is a holding company with two operating subsidiaries, WestJewel and XpressJewel. GlobalJewel and its subsidiaries are situated in the centre of all the main jewellery traders in the City of Cape Town.
GlobalJewel through its subsidiaries, does not deal in fine or high fashion jewellery, platinum or precious gemstones. The focus of the group is on quality, value for money 9ct gold and 925 sterling silver jewellery.

Having commenced his career within the engineering sector, Paul’s natural affinity for customer service resulted in the realignment of his choice of profession when he embarked on a career within the highly pressurised and competitive recruitment industry. Here he honed his sales, marketing, relationship building and general human resources skills and experience whilst conducting recruitment assignments on behalf of some of South Africa’s most respected employers.
Although highly successful within the South African market, Paul broadened his horizons and accepted the challenges of international recruitment and enhanced his business acumen whilst undertaking two periods of international recruitment, from both Dubai and London. Apart from his success within the recruitment sector, Paul has also played an active role whilst serving on various regional and national governing bodies.
Due to his naturally challenge driven, inquiring mindset and having rounded his business development and general management skills, Paul formally left the recruitment sector and has made his diverse range of skills available to clients by way of consulting to SMME organizations and successfully established Independent Consulting Services.

Following a successful business career in Marketing, Sales, Financial Services and Project Management in the UK and South Africa, James decided to offer his all-round experience as a consultant and formed Global Consulting in 1993 to provide consulting and project management services to developing small and medium sized companies.
James brings a wealth of business experience to WestJewel and is well practiced in the management of small and medium sized businesses. He has worked in the jewellery industry as an independent marketing and sales consultant managing an international project for two years. He is especially aware of the importance of good interpersonal relationships in the business environment. Familiarity with the administrative and accounting aspects of running a business and his financial services background including knowledge of corporate structuring is an added bonus.
